Arguably the most popular subject in preventative medicine today and of interest to everyone concerned with improving and maintaining their health. It provides an introduction to the study of human nutrition, covering topics such as requirements and deficiency symptoms for essential vitamins and minerals, biochemic individuality, nutritional characteristics of dairy foods, sugar and salt, chemicals in food, proteins, meat legumes and grains, alcohol, tea and coffee, metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, plus the best food sources.

On completion, a person is not eligible to practice professionally and there are no pre-requisites. As these courses are not strictly academic, credits cannot be granted.
